After almost two weeks in the Philippines, Philipp and I are already getting closer to our last days in this beautiful country.
While I visited with my sister, her husband, my uncle and some other friends the most incredible and breathtaking beaches and islands (no I don’t overstate – I never saw such clear water before), Philipp had the chance to work together with a local project partner of CARITAS AUSTRIA on a very meaningful project to help malnourished children in Manila. Please check out their facebook link if you want to support their important work saving the lives of children on a daily base: MALWARD (they really deserve all help they could get)
So even if we experienced the last two weeks separated from each other, we both came to the same conclusion: The Philippines and it’s people are AMAZING, unique and among the most friendliest we ever met throughout our journey. With their bliss and goodness they melt every heart so that you just have to love them.
Experiencing something and trying to write about it are usually two worlds! And in terms of the Philippines it’s even harder and feels different than the last countries we already visited. On one side it is still one of the poorest countries around the world and on the other side it has some of the most amazing islands and beaches you won’t be able to find anywhere else. Being able to just buy a flight ticket to see and experience it first hand while a lot of locals who were born and raised here might never have the (financial) chance to do the same, makes you feel honored and thoughtful at the same time.
Looks like we sometimes just need a reminder about the privileges we are having!
Keeping that in mind next to all the amazing time and new friends we made in this country – we are now also happy to experience the last couple of days reunited as “Our.World.Experience” in Manila. And although it wasn’t easy for me to say “Goodbye” to my sister for another six months – Philipp and I are already looking forward to our next destination and flight to Australia this thursday. Yey!
But for now we wish everyone a nice Sunday and hope you enjoy and appreciate the rest of your day on this beautiful planet!
Nice greetings from the Philippines,
Melanie & Philipp
PS: In case you already keep waiting for stunning travel photos from the Philippines we have to disappoint you! Unfortunately the camera of my phone got broken and Philipp just stayed in Manila – so no professional photos this time 😉
